Billy Gibson ObituaryObituary published on Legacy.com by YANDA & SON FUNERAL HOME - YUKON on Mar. 16, 2026.With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of our beloved brother, Billy Wade Gibson, age 64, of Yukon, Oklahoma, who departed this life peacefully in his sleep on Saturday, March 7, 2026.Billy was born on December 18, 1961, in Cushing, Oklahoma, to the late Charles and Eva Jo Gibson. He was known for his kindness, strength, generosity, and unwavering loyalty as a son, brother, uncle, and friend.As a child, Billy spent countless hours playing outdoors with his brothers, cousins, and neighborhood friends on Maple Street in Drumright, Oklahoma. Throughout his later childhood, his family moved several times due to his father's military career.Billy graduated from Ellison High School in Killeen, Texas, in 1980. After high school, he attended Northeastern Oklahoma A&M College and later studied TV and Video Production at Oklahoma State University.In 1985, Billy began his career at Grekle TV Production. After gaining valuable experience, he played a key role in helping launch Tom Park Production. During his 35-year tenure with the company, he achieved great success and traveled across the United States producing commercials for the automotive industry. During this time, he had the opportunity to meet many notable individuals, including the legendary Nolan Ryan.Following changes within the company, Billy chose to pursue a slower pace with less travel and most recently worked at Cuff's Express Courier. Throughout his career, Billy built lasting friendships with his colleagues, many of which remained strong over the years.Billy's love for the outdoors was evident to everyone who knew him. He cherished weekends spent skiing or hiking in the mountains, waterskiing at the lake, fishing, and simply enjoying the beauty of nature. When seeking relaxation, he found joy on the golf course with his dad, brothers, and friends.An avid reader and a fountain of knowledge, Billy was known for his impressive recall of historical facts and events, often sparking engaging conversations. His enthusiasm for sports-especially OU football-was contagious, and he never missed an opportunity to cheer on his favorite teams.Beyond watching sports, Billy made every effort to support and encourage his nieces and nephews by attending their school and sporting events, showing his deep love and pride for his family.A talented photographer, Billy often documented cherished family moments, capturing memories that will be treasured for a lifetime. He was also an avid animal lover, and his dogs held a special place in his heart.Billy leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and strong faith. Throughout his life, he touched the hearts of those around him and will be deeply missed.A celebration of Billy's life will be held on Friday, March 20, at Olive First Baptist Church, 9372 S. 433rd W. Ave., Drumright, Oklahoma 74030, beginning at 2:00 PM.In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Humane Society.We take comfort in knowing that Billy is now resting peacefully, and his memory will forever remain in our hearts.To plant trees in memory, please visit the Sympathy Store.
