Billy Royce Singletary

Billy was born on October 11, 1941, in Abbeville, Alabama, and passed away on March 10, 2026, after a long battle with cancer. He died surrounded by his loving family. He was preceded in death by his parents, Royce and Lois Singletary, his sister Mary Elaine, and his brother Ronald Singletary.

Billy graduated from Semmes High School in 1960 and soon after enlisted in the Army. He served with the 2nd Armored Division both in the United States and overseas before receiving an honorable discharge after three years. Upon returning to civilian life, he joined Union Local 119 and worked as a welder and pipefitter until his retirement. A longtime member of West Mobile Baptist Church, he remained active in his faith throughout his life.

He is survived by his wife of many years, Susie Barlow Singletary; his daughter, Kathleen Barahona, and her husband Norman; his son, Damien; and his grandchildren, Alyssa Flowers, Joshua, and Sierra Barahona. He is also survived by his brother, Louis Singletary and his wife Helen; nephews William Singletary and his wife Danielle, and Phillip Singletary and his wife Ashly; and nieces Stephanie Singletary and Lauren Singletary.
