Billie Marie Toups Williams Matherson passed away on Wednesday morning, March 11, 2026. Born in Beaumont, Texas, on May 3, 1925, to Murphy and Mattie Toups, she was the salutatorian of her graduating class at St. Anthony High School. A woman of quiet strength and deep devotion, Billie centered her life on family and faith.

In 1946, she married Arthur Kenneth Williams. Together they built a life rooted in hard work and love. Billie enjoyed a long and dedicated career at Mobil Chemical, retiring after 35 years of service. In her retirement, she found joy in playing bridge and line dancing. Later in life, she married Jerry Matherson, and the two spent many happy years traveling and cruising together.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, Arthur Kenneth Williams; her son, Art Williams; and her second husband, Jerry Matherson. Billie is survived by her daughter, Nancy Humberger (Hans); four grandchildren, Hans Humberger II (Emily), Keith Humberger (Jamie Rossman), Dana Adams (Drew), and Holly Kell (Jonathon); and two great-grandsons, Jax Kell and Hans “Cal” Humberger III. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and a large extended family who were all touched by her enduring love and steadfast spirit.
