Private graveside services will be held Saturday, March 21, 2026, at Providence Baptist Church Cemetery, with Pastor Dwayne Collins officiating.Born to the late Elonzo Morgan Hand and Jettie Coulston Hand, Ms. Billie was also preceded in death by her husband of 51 years, Mike McGhee, and six sisters.She is survived by her three children: Michael (Becky) McGhee; Sherry Cunningham (Clyde) of Holly Ridge; and Mark McGhee (Kelly) of Holly Ridge; as well as her sister, Carol Kennedy of Tulsa, OK. She leaves behind six grandchildren-Megan McGhee (Brett), Christopher McGhee, Michele Fisher (Keith) of Sneads Ferry, Morgan McGhee of Holly Ridge, Cameron McGhee (Megan) of Hampstead, and Samantha McGhee of Charlotte-and three great grandchildren.Ms. Billie retired from Cameron University in Lawton, OK, where she served as a Transcript Analyst. After retirement, she and Mike made their home in North Carolina, where Billie enjoyed gardening and fishing, never missed a good bargain when shopping and loved spending time with her grand and great-grandchildren.The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to Dennis Welch and his wife, Sheri, and Pastor Dwayne Collins whose kindness and companionship meant so much. Dennis and Sheri - your faithful rides to Sunday school helped Billie remain connected to the church community she cherished so deeply. Pastor Dwayne, thank you for providing Billie with steadfast pastoral guidance for more than 18 years. Your presence in her life-and in ours- has meant more than words can express.
