Indianapolis, IN

Bill H. Williams, born on November 27, 1955, in Indianapolis, passed away on March 14, 2026. The eldest child of Bill and Connie Williams, Bill grew up as a proud Southsider with a lifelong passion for Notre Dame. He began playing CYO football in fourth grade at St. Catherine School on south Shelby Street, practicing daily in Garfield Park, and remained dedicated to the sport through his years at Greenwood High School and the University of Indianapolis.

An exceptional athlete and student, Bill served as president of Greenwood’s senior class of 1974 and received the Rick Machledt Mental Attitude Award for football. He was a two-time state finalist in track during his junior and senior years, setting school records in both the mile and half-mile events. Later, Bill built a distinguished career on Indianapolis’s west side with Farm Bureau Insurance, where he worked for more than 30 years. He earned multiple “Agent of the Year” awards for consistently exceeding expectations and formed many enduring friendships along the way. He cherished time spent with his brother Scott and sister-in-law Kim while living on the west side.

Preceded in death by his parents, Bill and Connie Williams, and his sister-in-law Kim Williams, Bill is survived by his siblings Dan (Vicki) Williams, Scott Williams, Shawn (Paul) Leighton, and Lora (Todd) Casbon, as well as many beloved nephews and nieces. Those who knew him will remember his warmth, his athletic spirit, and the poems he loved to recite at family Christmas gatherings.
