William “Bill” Davis, 76, of Polk County, passed away peacefully on Sunday, March 15, 2026, surrounded by his family. Born and raised in Haywood County, North Carolina, he was the son of the late Joe Silas and Vennice Giles Davis. In 1970, he married Dianne Reagan, and together in 1977 they purchased a dairy farm in Polk County that became known as Timberbrook Farm. Bill lived by the motto “if you love what you do, you will never work a day in your life.” He devoted himself to building a successful family farm while remaining a loving husband, father, and Papa. Above all, he placed Christ at the center of his life.
Bill served on the Polk County Soil and Water Board and the Polk County Farm Bureau Board. A longtime and respected member of West Point Baptist Church in Rutherfordton, he served in many capacities, including as a deacon. He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Tommy Davis, and a sister, Joyce Hudgins.
He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Dianne Reagan Davis; two sons, Matt Davis and his wife Valerie, and Mitch Davis and his wife Mary Ann; five grandchildren, Natalee Valentine (Sawyer), Rachael Davis (Jordan), Chloe Jackson (Tye), Hunter Davis, and Anna Joy Davis; one great-granddaughter, Maybree Valentine; one sister, Marie Ferguson; his longtime friend and right-hand man, Placido Telefor and family; his bonus son, Michael Kerr; his uncle, Bill Davis; and many in-laws, cousins, nieces, and nephews.
