He was 86 years old.Born on August 31, 1939, in Tampa, Florida, Price - known to all as Bill - lived a life defined by service, devotion, and an enduring love for the outdoors. At the age of 17, he answered the call to serve his country, enlisting in the United States Marine Corps. He served with distinction as a Lance Corporal from 1956 through 1959, completing his training at both Camp Lejeune and Parris Island.Bill was devoted to his beloved wife, Grace, with whom he shared 57 years of marriage. In 2006, the two made their home in Cody, Wyoming, where Bill embraced the beauty of the American West with great joy. He found deep peace and happiness in the high mountains, often riding alongside his cherished horse, Brandy.A man of deep civic conviction, Bill served as Commander of the Cody VFW and as Commander of the Honor Guard from 2013 through 2016. He was a proud and dedicated member of the Scottish Rite, and a devoted Mason and Shriner. His commitment to his community and his fellow veterans was unwavering throughout his life.Bill is survived by his beloved wife, Grace; his daughter, Debi Dowdy, and her husband Bruce; his granddaughter, Jordan "PeeWee" Bontrager; his great-grandchildren, Keirtsyn and Lincoln Price; and his brother, Arthur Buntyn, and his wife Pencie, along with their children.Bill Buntyn was a friend to all and a stranger to none. He gave generously of his time, his spirit, and himself, and leaves behind a legacy as rich and enduring as the mountains he so dearly loved. Per Bill's wishes, there will be no services. In lieu of a formal farewell, Bill wished for all those who knew him to hold close the good times and cherished memories they shared together - a reflection of the warmth and joy he brought to everyone around him.
