Big Rickey Brister

Thomas Richard “Big Rickey” Brister, age 74, of West Carroll and Morehouse Parishes, passed away peacefully on March 13, 2026, surrounded by his loving family. Born on February 4, 1952, in Winfield, Louisiana, he spent his life working the land he loved as a dedicated farmer. For decades he cultivated rice, corn, cotton, and soybeans, turning long days in the fields into a true family endeavor shared with his wife Belen and their sons, Little Rickey and Ryan. Those years were marked by hard work, shared laughter, jokes, and memories the family will treasure always.

Outside the farm, Rickey was an avid hunter and fisherman who looked forward to each season spent in his deer stand, well stocked with snacks, patiently waiting for the next big buck. Known for his tenacity, quick wit, and independent spirit, he lived life on his own terms and kept those around him smiling with his unpredictable humor.

He is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Belen Brister; his sons Rickey Brister and wife Chesslye, and Ryan Brister and wife Lacey; and his cherished grandchildren Gracie Claire, Madelyn, Kaylee, Kiley, Riley, and John David.
