Born on March 31, 1949, in Olney, Maryland, to the late Joseph Carlton Kerger and Dorothy Virginia (McCracken) Kerger.Rose was a graduate of Milford Mill High School. Her academic achievements were just the beginning of a life marked by enthusiasm and dedication. After many years of committed service, she retired from the Social Security Administration.Rose was a parishioner at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Eldersburg, where she found great comfort and community in her faith.Rose's passion for life was evident in her love for sports. An avid Baltimore Orioles fan, she never missed an Opening Day, and her spirit was a familiar presence in the stands. Her athleticism was not limited to spectatorship; she actively engaged in sports, playing fast-pitch softball and field hockey for many years.She was creative and skilled with her hands, whether she was making crafts, painting, or wallpapering. Her artistic talents brought beauty into the world and into the lives of those around her. Rose's creations were not just hobbies; they were reflections of her vibrant, spirited nature.Rose will be missed by her loving brother, Joseph Kerger and his wife Paula. Her memory will also be treasured by her many nieces, nephews, and a host of friends who were like family to her. Rose was predeceased by her sisters, Patricia Ann Hess, Barbara Ellen Merhling, Sharon Jean Bradley, Joanne Carol Crockett, and her parents.A Catholic prayer service will be held at 10 AM on Monday, March 9, 2026, at Haight Funeral Home & Chapel, 6416 Sykesville Road, Sykesville with Deacon Joe Slattery as presider.
