Beverly F. "Bev" Mitchell

Beverly "Bev" Francis Mitchell, 81, of Flowery Branch, GA, passed away Sunday, March 8, 2026, at a hospital in Georgia after a brief illness of pancreatic cancer. A funeral service will be held on Saturday March 21, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. at Woodstock Christian Church. Pastor Jonathan Fletcher will officiate. Burial will follow at Massanutten Cemetery immediately following. The family will receive friends Friday, March 20, 2026, at the church from 4-6 p.m.Mr. Mitchell served the transportation profession for his entire life in various capacities with both public transportation departments and private consulting firms. Over his career he designed, constructed, and operated traffic control systems throughout the country. His broad experience and practical approach to problems solving was valued by many organizations that he served.Mr. Mitchell was born December 14, 1944, in Roanoke, VA. He is preceded in death by his parents and two brothers.He is survived by his wife, Mary Evelyn Hottel Mitchell of Flowery Branch, GA; sons, Scott Mitchell (Dawn) of Hampton, VA and Glenn Mitchell (Elizabeth) of Fayetteville, NC; daughter, Linda Mitchell (Nicolas Edmonds) of Simpsonville, SC; and step-daughter, Cheryl Danielson (Jeffrey) of Land O Lakes, FL; as well as 8 wonderful grandchildren and 2 precious great-grandchildren.Pallbearers will be his grandson, Jarred Smith and nephews, Wayne Bowers, Adam Bowers, Aaron Bowers, Alan Bowers, and Steven Racey.The family requests that donations be made to either Woodstock Christian Church, PO Box 521 Woodstock, VA or Buford Presbyterian Church, 1242 Buford Highway, Sugar Hill, GA.
