Beverly Boyack Moffitt

December 9, 1932 March 6, 2026

Provo, UT

Beverly Boyack Moffitt was born on December 9, 1932, in Seattle, Washington, and passed away on March 6, 2026. She was known for her warm and friendly nature, her genuine concern for others, and her lifetime of selfless service, all rooted in her deep faith in Jesus Christ. Beverly was a devoted wife to her husband of 58 years, Gerald “Jerry” Thomas Moffitt.

She attended Brigham Young University, where she studied Elementary Education, and taught third grade in both Los Angeles, California, and Seattle, Washington. After six years of teaching, she served a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Frankfurt, Germany. She married Jerry on June 30, 1966, in the Oakland California Temple, and the couple made their home in San Jose, California. Beverly remained deeply involved in her community, serving as a school board member in San Jose, as an active member of the Daughters of the Utah Pioneers, and as the founder and president of the Blossom Valley Neighborhood Association. Within the Church, she held many callings, including Relief Society president and Young Women president. After Jerry’s retirement in 2001, they served together as senior missionaries in Spokane, Washington, Boston, Massachusetts, and Salt Lake City, Utah, before retiring to Provo, Utah.

Beverly is survived by her daughters Merrilyn (Roy) Hilton, Heidi (Shawn Davis) Darling, Deborah (Matthew) Torrens, and Jeanie (Garrett) Anderson, as well as eleven grandchildren: Michaela (Bret) Foster, Lana, Blake, Dakota, and Jae Darling; Sydney, Tyler, Drew, and Landon Torrens; and Solomon (Rayne) and Jeremiah Anderson. She was preceded in death by her husband Gerald Moffitt, her parents Merrill Waterhouse and Lydia Olsen Boyack, and her sister Geraldine Boyack. She remained close throughout her life to hundreds of first, second, and third cousins in the extended Boyack family, who will miss her dearly.
