Beverly Ann Townsend

Beverly Townsend, 83, formerly of Hamilton, Alabama, and Wilson, North Carolina, passed away on March 14, 2026, at Keller Landing in Tuscumbia, Alabama, following complications from Alzheimer’s Disease.

Born in Warren, Ohio, Beverly spent many of her later years in Wilson, North Carolina, where she was an active member of Raleigh Road Baptist Church. She found great joy in giving to others, crocheting countless baby blankets for the Wilson pregnancy center. She worked at Lowe’s in Wilson as a head cashier and in the garden department, and she had a deep love for gardening. In her younger years, she was also an avid bowler.

Beverly returned to Hamilton, Alabama, in 2019 to live with her daughter. She chose many years ago to donate her body to science, and it was transported to the University of Alabama at Birmingham.

She is survived by her children, Randy (Gail) Townsend and Lynnette (Wayne) Walker; grandchildren, Otha (Eboni) Townsend, Tatum (Allen) Hardison, Jacob (Jennifer) Walker, and Cassie (Conner) Nix; and great-grandchildren, Lake, Lincoln, Bryson, Jackson, Gage, and Porter. She was preceded in death by her parents, Harold and Genevieve Benedict.
