Beverly Ann Scott, née Thomas, passed away peacefully on March 10, 2026, at the age of 83. Born on April 20, 1942, in Youngstown, Ohio, she was the daughter of Guy and Mary Nestor Thomas. A graduate of Hubbard High School in 1960, Beverly maintained deep ties to her community throughout her life. In the 1960s she worked in Washington, D.C., as a secretary for the Chief of Naval Operations at the Pentagon before returning to Ohio. On April 12, 1969, she married Robert Scott.
A woman of strong faith, Beverly was a devoted member of Coalburg United Methodist Church, where she served as church secretary, sang in the choir, and participated in many activities. She was also active with Hubbard C.I.A. (Christians in Action), volunteered with The Salvation Army, and served as secretary for Hubbard First Presbyterian Church. She found great enjoyment in playing bridge as a longtime member of a bridge club. Beverly and her husband Bob spent twelve years living in Winter Haven, Florida, while calling Hubbard home for most of their lives.
She is survived by her son, James (Sheila) Scott of Cabot, Arkansas; her daughter, Patricia (Larry) Pennington of Chagrin Falls, Ohio; her daughter-in-law, Lisa Scott of Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio; her sister, Patricia (Richard) Tate of Hubbard; her sister-in-law, Cathy Thomas of Newton Falls; nine grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Beverly was preceded in death by her husband, Robert; her parents, Guy and Mary; her brother, George Thomas; her sister, Jacqueline Thomas; and her son, Michael Scott.
