Beverly Ann Palermino (née Szwed) passed away on March 10, 2026, at the age of 91. She was the beloved wife of the late Leonard Palermino. Beverly was a loving mother to Leonard Palermino (Maureen Palermino Murphy), the late Debra Palermino Connor (Donald), and the late Patrice Palermino (James Quell). She was a proud and devoted grandmother to her grandchildren Colin Connor (Erica), Matthew Garavaglia (Jessica), Caitlin Connor (Jason Schlaff), and Casey Palermino, and a cherished great-grandmother to Caroline, Jack, Matthew, and Madelyn. She was the dear sister of the late James Szwed, M.D. (Mary Kay) and is also survived by several loving nieces and nephews.
A compassionate and skilled nurse, Beverly cared for patients for many years at St. John Hospital in Detroit and St. Joseph Mercy Hospital in Clinton Township. A proud graduate of Mercy College of Nursing, she was known as a trailblazer, becoming the first nurse at St. John Hospital to wear pants. Her deep and unwavering Catholic faith guided her life; she remained an active parishioner at St. Isaac Jogues Catholic Church in St. Clair Shores for more than 40 years, where she found strength and community through prayer and service.
