Bettye Louise Jones, a beloved mother and grandmother, passed away peacefully on March 5, 2026, at the home of her children in Cedar Hill, Texas, at the age of 93. She was born on December 27, 1932, in Texarkana (Macedonia), Texas, where she built a life filled with love, compassion, and cherished memories.

A devoted family woman, Bettye was deeply committed to her two children, Zackery L. Jones and Tonya K. Jones Williams, her grandchildren Kristin K. Jones and Kara L. Jones, and her daughter-in-law Debbie K. Jones. She stood as a pillar of strength and a constant source of support, guiding her family with wisdom, patience, and unwavering love.

Bettye attended public school in the Macedonia School District and graduated from Macedonia High School. At an early age she professed her faith in Jesus Christ and joined Union Hill Missionary Baptist Church, where she remained a dedicated member. She lived in Texarkana, Texas, for most of her life, working as a custodian at Texarkana College until her retirement, after which she operated her own cleaning service for several families in the area. She spent the final two and a half years of her life in Cedar Hill, Texas, with her son and daughter-in-law.

Bettye was preceded in death by her grandparents, Wade D. Grady and Mary Grady; her mother, Zenobia Grady; her father, John H. Jones; her sister, Muriel D. Bland Roy; her aunts, Velma M. Washington and Prince Lee Brannon; her nieces and nephews, Rhoda Bland Scott, Sheila Bland, Ronald W. Bland, Cecil Bland, and Marc Roy; her great-nephew, Quentin K. Bland; and many treasured friends. She is survived by her daughter Tonya K. Jones Williams; her son Zackery L. Jones and his wife Debbie K. Jones; her granddaughters Kristin K. Jones and Kara L. Jones; her nephew Quintin Keith Bland; her niece Sheresa Bland; her great-nieces and nephews Teasha Bland Johnson, Sheika Bland Williams, Tamaka Bland, Benyon Bland, Ronnie Bland, and Willie Bland Hindman; along with a number of other relatives and friends.
