Sandusky, OH
Betty Wanda Cooper, 93, of Sandusky, passed away on March 12, 2026, surrounded by her loving children. Born on March 23, 1932, in New Boston, Ohio, to James and Nancy (Adkins) Crisp, Betty met the love of her life, Charles Cooper, at age 15 at the New Boston Church of God, where he served as youth leader. They married on September 20, 1947, in Greenup, Kentucky, and together devoted many years to ministry as pastors at several Church of God of Prophecy churches in Ohio.
A lifelong servant of her faith, Betty was an avid Bible scholar and teacher who mentored numerous young pastors’ wives. She loved to sing and play the piano for her church and volunteered for many years at Providence Care Center, sharing her musical talents with residents. After Charles retired from the ministry, Betty worked cleaning businesses and homes before joining the activities department at Providence Hospital – St. Ann’s Unit in 1993, where she remained until her retirement in 2004 at the age of 72.
