She was born on April 22, 1938 in Vienna, Missouri; a daughter of Dewey Albertson and Ida (Dambach) Albertson. Betty was the youngest of eight children. She was united in marriage to Donald Earl Rains on February 16, 1956. Together they had five children: Debra (John) Foote of Sedalia, MO; Cathy (Terry) Hart of Eldon, MO; Donna Rains (Mark) of High Pointe, MO; Douglas Rains of Lake Ozark, MO and Gary Rains of Eldon, MO.She had several grandchildren and was always happy to see them visit. Donald Rains preceded her in death on April 24, 1992; Gary Rains preceded her in death on September 3, 2021and Lisa (Ballew) Rains, daughter-in-law, preceded her in death on September 15, 2021.Betty graduated from Maries County R-1 High School in Vienna, Missouri as valedictorian of her class. After marriage she worked for the State of Missouri in Jefferson City, Missouri for many years in the Family Services Division. She was a valued employee and was considered one of the most knowledgeable in the Medicaid department.She was a child of God and taught Sunday School for many years. She loved quilting and won blue ribbons at county fairs for her quilting and home baked goods. The value of family was very important to her. She strived to make Christmas a wonderful time with lots of baked goods and homemade gifts. She had a soft spot for anyone in need and always tried to help in some way.Officiating the service is Pastor Ralph Sawyer. Visitation will be held from 9-11 a.m. on Tuesday, March 10, 2026 with the funeral beginning at 11 a.m. at the Spring Valley Baptist Church, Henley, Missouri. Interment will be following at the Henley Cemetery.
