Betty Sue Borgfield, age 72, of Jackson, passed away Sunday at her home, surrounded by her loving family.
She was born May 1, 1953, in Cape Girardeau, the daughter of Lrea and Florence Samuel Reid. On May 29, 1971, she married Terry W. Borgfield in Jackson, and together they shared 54 years of marriage.
Betty attended school in Jackson and dedicated many years of service to the Missouri Veterans Home in Cape Girardeau, where she worked until her retirement. She was previously employed at Ralph Edwards Sportswear and Thorngate Manufacturing. Betty found joy in camping, gardening, and, most of all, spending time with her family—especially her grandchildren.
Survivors include her husband, Terry Borgfield of Jackson; two children, Erin Borgfield of Jackson and Brandon (Anne) Borgfield of Lafayette, Louisiana; four grandchildren, Halie, Harley, Benjamin, and Jarrett; and five great-grandchildren, Tyler, Brayden, Isaiah, Noah, and Logan.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a grandson, Rodney; and a brother, Larry Reid.
A graveside memorial service will be held at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, March 21, 2026, at Russell Heights Cemetery in Jackson, with Rev. Sam Roethemeyer officiating.
