Betty Starling Nunn

Betty Starling Nunn, 86, of North Carolina, passed away on March 9, 2026. Born on September 20, 1939, she was the daughter of the late Troy Andrew Starling and Rosalie Worley Starling. Betty was preceded in death by her husband, Benjamin F. Nunn Sr., and her son, Benjamin “Benny” F. Nunn Jr. (Jayne).

She is survived by her children Andy R. Nunn (Gloria) and Rosemary N. Joyner (Royce), her sisters Joyce Thomas and Andra Price, and her grandchildren Drew, Charlotte, Andrew, Trey, and Caitlin. She was also preceded in death by her brother Billy Starling and her grandchildren Tyler and Kari Louise.

Betty lived life on her own terms with a matter-of-fact and straightforward nature. She spoke plainly, offered her opinions without softening them, and approached the world with resilience and persistence. Those who knew her always understood exactly where they stood with her. Her family remembers her strength and the distinctive way she moved through life, holding both its joys and its challenges in their hearts.
