Oceanport, NJ
Betty Lovgren Justus passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family and friends, on March 11, 2026, in Oceanport, New Jersey, at the age of 90. Born on March 31, 1935, in Sea Bright, New Jersey, she grew up in the scenic shores of her hometown with her loving parents, Harry and Bridie Lovgren, and her late brother, Thomas C. Lovgren. A graduate of Long Branch High School, Betty carried the warmth and resilience of her early years throughout her life.
She dedicated many years to her career at the Department of the Army at Fort Monmouth, where she served as Chief of the Pay Examination Branch in the Finance and Accounting Division. Betty found her greatest joy in simple pleasures, especially time spent at the beach with loved ones. Her grandchildren and great-grandchildren were the light of her life. She cherished every moment with Kendl Ullman and her husband Doug, Alex Ferencz and his wife Anna, Bridget Manning and her fiancé Javi Bustamante, and Hunter Manning and his partner Meaghan Hellmers, as well as her great-grandchildren Harper Ullman, Killian Ullman, and Rio Bustamante, who kept her young at heart.
Betty is survived by her devoted daughters, Kathleen Keenan Paulin and her husband Tom, and Karen Keenan DiBerardino and her husband Bob. Her family was her proudest accomplishment and the center of her world. She was predeceased by her parents, her beloved husband, her daughter Kelly Ann Keenan Manning, and her brother Thomas.
Betty’s extraordinary character, comforting presence, and generous love remain a lasting gift to all who knew her.
