She was born on March 19th,1932 in Astoria, Oregon to George P. Robinson and Bertha Swanson (Zarback Robinson).Betty moved across the United States during childhood, settling in the Ravenna area where her parents worked at the Ravenna Arsenal during World War II. She enjoyed playing the organ, bowling, and traveling with her family, especially for bowling tournaments around the United States.She had married some exceptional men in her life with her final marriage in 1988 to John "Jack" Gorman, whom she deeply loved and whose memory sustained her after his passing. He was the one who stole her heart, soul and total commitment for the rest of her days.After retiring from Southwest General Hospital, Betty devoted herself to her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, teaching them about faith and family.Betty was a strong, kind and beautiful person. She lived a life grounded in faith, kindness and positivity, influencing those around her with wisdom and love. She was an amazing mother, grandmother, great- grandmother and friend. She will leave a void in our daily lives that will never be filled; however, she will live forever in our hearts and memories.Betty was predeceased by her beloved husband, John "Jack" Gorman, son-in-law Glenn Abels, grandchildren Jeremy Abels Sr and Sarah Rose (Coulis) Lewis, brothers, George and Edward Robinson and sister Marcella Robinson Tuckerman Stansbury.She is survived by her children, Sandy Abels, Walt Combs (Nancy), Nancy Coulis (Mark), grandchildren Jason Abels, Michael Combs, Megan O'Neil, Jamie Coulis Zorn, Taylor Coulis, great grandchildren Jeremy Jr, Joey, Sierra, Navada, Kaydee and Ashley Abels, Scotty and Baily Bacon, Kallie, Mikayla and Mikey Zorn, Jak and Oliver Lewis, and Vanessa Combs and Kieran O'Neil; cherished friends from RHM Manor and her beloved dog, Oreo.Visitation will be held from 12-2 pm, Saturday, March 28, 2026, at Waite Funeral Home, 3300 Center Rd., Brunswick, followed by a Memorial Service at 2 pm.Family and friends are invited to a celebration of Betty's life immediately following the services on Saturday, March 28th in the Community room at RHM Manor Apartments, 1685 Stoneybrook Lane, Brunswick, Ohio 44212.In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to any of the following charities:The Road To Hope IncTo mail a donation to the Road to Hope, write a check or money order made out to The Road to Hope and mail to: 1863 Liberty Avenue, Vermilion, Ohio 44089, United States.Donate through Paypal or Venmo to Road To Hope Inc.Alzheimer's Association | Alzheimer's Disease & Dementia HelpAmerican Heart Associationhttps://www.heart.org/To plant trees in memory, please visit the Sympathy Store.
