Betty L. Hardin, 86, of Dayton, Tennessee, passed away peacefully at her home on March 9, 2026. Born on February 20, 1940, in Logansport, Indiana, to George E. Ingram and Elsie Ingram, Betty spent her life as a devoted homemaker. Her love for her family was matched only by her deep faith in the Lord, and she was a longtime member of New Union Baptist Church in Dayton.
She was preceded in death by her husbands, Alvin Nix and Edward Hardin, and by her siblings, Nancy Ingram and George Ingram. Betty is survived by her children, David (Karen) Nix, Teri Jacob, and Kim (Tim) Poole; her grandchildren, Justin (Micaela) Jacob, Jennifer (Jason) Osborne, Ashley Hennessey, and Zachary (Daria Sharova) Poole; and her great-grandchildren, Juliette Jacob, Gabriella Jacob, Madison Osborne, Allison Osborne, Cooper Hennessey, and Karsyn Hennessey. She also shared a special affection with her cat, Max.
A graveside service will be held at Rainbow Memorial Gardens in Gadsden, Alabama, on March 13, 2026. The family wishes to express their deep gratitude to Amedisys Hospice in Athens, Tennessee, for the compassionate care they provided to their beloved mother.
