Betty Rouse ObituaryObituary published on Legacy.com by Pink Hill Funeral Home on Mar. 17, 2026.Betty Stroud Rouse passed away peacefully surrounded by her loved ones on March 14th at 11:59 pm at Kitty Askins. She was preceded in death by her parents Clifton and Bertie Stroud and her significant other, Larry Andrews. To cherish her memory, she leaves behind her daughters; Lisa Daniels and husband, Charles of Deep Run, Bridget Rouse and fiancé, Greg Arnette of LaGrange, sisters Susan Stroud (Elton Mercer), Shirley Price (Roger) and Peggy Hill (Ted), and four grandchildren; Hailey & Hunter Daniels & Kameron & Ashlyn Pettry.Betty spent most of her working career in sewing factories and then the food industry. Her love language was cooking a good meal and sending you home with a full belly. There wasn't anything she couldn't cook and absolutely nothing she couldn't do. She was an independent, driven and determined little woman. She enjoyed keeping a spotless home, spending time with her sisters and special friends. In her later years, she enjoyed sitting in her recliner watching Westerns and The Andy Griffith Show. There are many special individuals who played an invaluable role in caring for Betty. The family would like to send heartfelt thanks to Dr. Doug Schiller, Dr. Serrano, Dr. Sakeen, as well as the UNC Lenoir ICU staff. The family would also like to extend sincere gratitude to the staff at Kitty Askins in Goldsboro, especially Jo Anne Grady and Ms. Laura. Additionally, the family would like to thank all that loved and visited Betty over the years and final hours, especially her friend, Joann White (Grandma). The family could not have wished for a more compassionate and dedicated team to care for her during her final days. While we will deeply miss her spunky, feisty spirit here on earth, we find comfort in knowing she is no longer in pain and has been reunited with the many loved ones she longed to see again. As her daughters, we cannot thank you enough for the love and care you showed our Mom.In lieu of flowers the family asked for donations to be made to Kitty Askins Hospice Center, 107 Handley Park Court Goldsboro, NC 27534.A celebration of life will be held at Pink Hill Funeral Home on Friday March 20th at 6:00 p.m..
