Gillhouse and Betty Jean (Welsh) Gillhouse.Along with her parents, Betty was preceded in death by her siblings, Evan Gillhouse, Katherine Shaefer, Carol Durham, and Donald Gillhouse.Left to cherish the memory of Betty is her son, Clarence Perkins; daughter, Elizabeth (Nathan) Stankiewicz; grandchildren, Austin Sturgeon, Scarlet Luttrell, Anthony Luttrell, Sierra Pease-Sturgeon; great granddaughters, Abigail and Avery, and siblings, Shirley Wilcox, Phyllis Newland-Patrick, and Charles Gillhouse.Betty will be remembered as a woman whose life was rooted in faith, compassion, and simple joys. She found great comfort and community at the Church of God Full Gospel in Niles, where her love for worship and fellowship was a constant presence in her life.She had a caring spirit and was always there for her friends, especially in times when they needed comfort or support. Betty cherished the moments she spent with her family and friends, holding especially close the time she shared with her great-granddaughters, who brought her endless joy.Betty loved creating warmth and beauty around her. She enjoyed decorating her apartment and lending a helping hand to her daughter Elizabeth during the holidays, making each season feel special. Some of her happiest days were spent at her daughter's hobby farm, surrounded by animals, tending to flowers, or simply sitting under a shade tree watching the goats and chickens play.On quieter days, especially when the weather kept her indoors, Betty found peace in simple routines, like spending the day watching Blue Bloods with Elizabeth.In her life's work, Betty showed determination and dedication. She worked her way up to become a registered nurse, a role that reflected her deep compassion and desire to care for others. She also proudly graduated from Bible college alongside her two sisters, Phyllis and Shirley, an accomplishment that spoke to her lifelong commitment to her faith.Betty's life was one of kindness, faith, and love.
