Betty Jean Frey

Betty J. Frey, 79 of Stoneboro, passed away unexpectedly on March 9, 2026 at UPMC Passavant surrounded by family. She was born in on July 13, 1946 to parents Marvin L. Waddell and Esther M. Parker.

Betty was a member of the Protestant faith and was a proud homemaker. She loved to spend time with her family especially playing with her great grandchildren. Betty loved playing board games like Uno, Triominos, dice, and Bingo. She also loved fishing and going for rides.

Betty is survived by a daughter, Hope Buck, of Greenville; five grandchildren, Nicole Huya, Cody Frey, Samantha (William) Buck, Kaylee Means, and Jennah Frey; seven great-grandchildren, Dawson, Savannah, Skye, Ember, Maverick, Shelby, and Ethel; two siblings, Marsha Kennedy and John Waddell; a daughter-in-law, Becky Frey; and two sisters-in-law, Peggy Rihel, and Mike and her husband George.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Marvin and Esther; her first husband David Frey; her second husband Robert Stamp; a son, Mark Douglas Frey; and a brother Thomas Waddell.

Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to ROSE AND BLACK FUNERAL HOME & CREMATORY, INC. 99 Franklin Street, Stoneboro where visitation will take place on Tuesday, March 10th from 5pm – 8pm. Burial will take place at Mt. Washington Cemetery at the family’s convenience.
