Betty Jane McMahan

Betty Jane McMahan, age 77, of Blacksburg, passed away on March 14, 2026. Born in Montgomery County, Virginia, on January 16, 1949, she was the daughter of the late Edward G. and Eleanor Linkous Hungate.

Betty was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond Oakey McMahan; a daughter, Joan Marie Barker; a granddaughter, Laura Barker; a brother, Norman Hungate; and a sister, Peggy Hungate Fox. She is survived by her son, Billy W. Jones (Patricia Woodson); daughters, Angela Gail Jones (Tashina Meadows) and Tina Renee Collins (Wayne); grandchildren, Dustin, Latrinidy, Jacob, Leann, and Tyler; six great-grandchildren; sisters, Mary Smith, Margaret Duncan, and Frances Alls (Jimmy); and her ex-husband and father of her children, Bill Jones.

She will be remembered as a devoted mother and grandmother whose love for her family remained steadfast throughout her life. Her presence brought warmth and continuity to those who knew her best.
