Miller and Velma (Coulter) Miller on June 26, 1932. She was a daughter of our Lord rst! A sister to hardworking and fun-loving brothers and sisters second! Mother to ve dedicated children.Betty grew up at the foot of the Rockies in Charlo, Montana in the Flathead Valley. A big piece of her heart was always in Montana. How she longed for the view of those magni cent mountains. She was respected as a skilled driver of teams of workhorses in the Montana elds as a young girl, was a cheerleader and also received the Citizenship Award for her high school. Betty enjoyed playing the trumpet too!She attended many games, meets, or shows for her children, and then her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Her passion for her family was evident to all, her devotion to supporting them obvious.Stories of faith, love of horses, a good visit with family or friends, baseball...or softball, painting, and cheerleading her children or grandchildren's sporting events was her mission in life. As a dedicated homemaker, she cooked, baked, and shared a tradition of her favorite recipes at home, games and holidays. As her grandchildren said, she was loyal to a fault.She had a drive to win in a cribbage game but displayed fairness. She ercely stood behind her loved ones. She had a little spice to her but always honest. Tough as nails, direct and kind. Her legacy lives on in the lives of her 14 grandchildren and 33 grandchildren, and all who were fortunate enough to know her.She went home peacefully, to our Lord and to her loved ones in heaven, on Sunday, March 8, 2026 at her home while surrounded by her loved ones in Spokane, Washington.She is survived by her son, Denny Horlacher (Leslie Lynn); daughters, Leslie Sulgrove (Dan), Gail Lange (Marc), Renee Demand (David, and Janelle Axtell (Jeff); brother, Elwin Peter "Sonny" Miller, Jr.; sisters, Jean Larson and Joann Johnson; 14 grandchildren; and 33 great grandchildren.She was preceded in death by her husband, Lowell E. Horlacher, MD; father, Elwin Peter "Spot" Miller; mother, Velma Miller; brother, Don Miller; sisters, Faye Layman and Joyce Mattix; and grandparents, Arch & Ollie Coulter and Andrew & Hannah Muëller.A funeral mass will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, March 12, 2026, at St. Thomas More Catholic Church, 505 W. St. Thomas More Way, Spokane, WA 99208, with reception to follow. A graveside service will be held at 1:30 p.m. at Holy Cross Cemetery, 7200 N.
