Betty Gaston, born August 29, 1933, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loving family, on March 8, 2026, at the age of 92.
A devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great-grandmother, Betty was a woman of strength, grace, and compassion. Her unwavering dedication to her family, church, and community left a lasting impression on everyone she met. For more than 30 years she was a loyal and hardworking member of Mary Kay Cosmetics, where she formed deep friendships and inspired those around her.
Her faith was the cornerstone of her life. A lifelong member of Greater New Zion Baptist Church, Betty served in various capacities for more than 60 years. Her kindness, wisdom, and quiet devotion made her a source of spiritual support and love for countless people.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Eula Black, her father, Robert Madison, her husband, Max Gaston, and her daughter, Maxilene Brown. Betty was a proud graduate of Booker T. Washington High School, where she formed lifelong friendships.
She is survived by her daughter, Eulane Hart (Rev. Monty Hart); grandchildren Anthony Dawn, Clinton Brown, Michael Brown, Amanda Brown, Brandon Brown, and Reginald Lewis; great-grandchildren Auchana Dawn, Ja’Vay Dawn, Titus Muse Jr., and A’yani Brown; and great-great-grandchildren Nas and Nova. Each of them was blessed by her love and guidance.
Betty will be remembered for her nurturing spirit, her deep and unwavering faith, and her endless love for her family and community. Her legacy of strength and service will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
