Betty Ezell Stamper

Betty Joyce Ezell Stamper, 91, of Lawrence, Mississippi, passed away on Saturday, March 14 at Ochsner Hospital in Meridian. A lifelong resident of Lawrence, she was born on December 9, 1934, in Newton County to Woodrow and Margaret Ezell.

Betty was a faithful Christian who loved the Lord and found deep joy in her roles as a devoted wife, mother, Nana, and sister. She was cherished locally for her warm spirit and her much-loved teacakes.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Woodrow and Margaret Ezell; her husband, Melvin Stamper; a brother, Millard Ezell; and a son-in-law, Paul Neese.

She is survived by her children, Richard Stamper (Shelia) and Kathy Neese; grandchildren, Adria Miles (Justin) and Nathan Stamper (Leanne); great-grandchildren, Joshua, Hannah, and Miriam Miles, and Rush and Sam Stamper; and her sister, Dianne Smith (Milton).
