Duncan, OK
Betty Ellen Evans Cook, 79, of Duncan, Oklahoma, passed away at her home on March 13, 2026. Born on May 18, 1946, in Dallas, Texas, to Lewis and Edna (Bentle) Evans, she grew up and attended school in Lancaster, Texas. Betty married the love of her life, Thomas G.B. Cook, on April 28, 1977, at Duncan Lake. The couple spent most of their married life between the Duncan and Lancaster areas. Thomas preceded her in death on February 1, 2014, after more than 36 years together.
Betty’s greatest joy was her family. She embraced many as her own, lovingly serving as Mom or Mimi to all who knew her. Warm and welcoming, she made everyone around her feel cherished and at home. A member of the Primitive Baptist Church in Duncan, she lived with a quiet faith and a generous heart.
She is survived by her sons Darion Weakley of Texas, Benny Cook of Duncan, Oklahoma, Pacer Cook of Blanchard, Oklahoma, and Scott Webb of Liberty, Texas; daughters Tracy Eversole of Duncan and Elizabeth Weaver of Duncan; sister Connie Clayburn of Red Oak, Texas; sister and adopted daughter Kathy Acton of Duncan; and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and extended family members.
Betty was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Thomas, sons Gregory Webb and Kerry Weakley, brother Gary Lewis Evans, and a great-grandchild.
