Betty Donalda Knouse

Betty Donalda Knouse, 94, of Boalsburg, Pennsylvania, passed away on March 12, 2026, at Wynwood House in Boalsburg. Born on July 16, 1931, in Axemann, she was the daughter of the late Blaine F. Hoy and Ethel Burgin McCloskey. She married Robert W. Knouse on June 13, 1959; he preceded her in death on October 16, 2015.

Betty proudly earned her GED later in life and devoted herself to her family and community as a homemaker, friend, confidant, and pet sitter. She found deep joy in sewing and quilting, creating hundreds of items for church missions and crafting beautiful quilts that will be treasured by those who received them.

She is survived by five of her children, Rita Flick and her fiancé Dan Northamer of Port Matilda, George Baney and his wife Gloria of Bellefonte, Christine Minnigh of Altoona, Apryl Caldwell and her husband Steve of Altoona, and Alice Goldenberg and her husband Gary of Phillipsburg, New Jersey; three siblings, Larry McCloskey and his wife Beverly of Hadley, Debra McCloskey of Harrisville, and Miriam Minnis of Warren; ten grandchildren; nineteen great-grandchildren; and eight great-great-grandchildren.

In addition to her husband and parents, Betty was predeceased by her daughter Carolyn Hopkins and four siblings, Richard Hoy, Richard McCloskey, Barbara McCloskey, and David “Gene” Hoy.
