She was predeceased by: her husband Sidney Cowan; her children, Retha Kathleen Cowan and Robert Mitchell Cowan; her grandchildren, Joseph Cowan and Nancy Laree Cowan; her mother Retha Mae Vise Kirkland; her grandparents, Alton and Louella Vise; and her siblings, Jane Prescott and Mack McClure.

She is survived by: her son Mac Allen Cowan; and her siblings, Rachel Glenn, Eloise Denmark, Polly Eanes, Charlotte Richardson, Jerome McClure and Mark McClure. She is also survived by grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, March 11th 2026 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Moments Funeral Home (7158 MS-63, Lucedale, MS 39452). A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, March 11th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
