Betty Charlene Gudde, age 88, of Warrensburg and formerly of Kingsville, passed away on March 12, 2026, at Country Club Care Center in Warrensburg. Born on March 27, 1937, in Holden, she was the daughter of Clarence and Kathryn (Platter) Shull. On June 13, 1998, she married James Franklin Gudde in Kingsville.
Betty found joy in gardening, bowling, and watching sports, especially cheering for her grandchildren and the Kansas City Chiefs. She cherished traveling with Franklin, the love of her life, and took great delight in showing his picture to anyone who would look, proudly declaring how handsome he was.
She is survived by her sons, Troy (Marty) Savage and Darby (Barbi) Savage; three sisters, Bonnie Tirk, Debbie Phelps, and Georgia Kennedy; a brother, George Shull; a stepson, James Gudde; a stepdaughter, Sherri Christian; two sons-in-law, Kelly Moore and Scott Adams; and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Franklin Gudde; her daughters, Sondra Moore and Rebecca Savage-Adams; and several siblings, including Donna Wirsig, Shirley Watterson, Jack Shull, Bob Shull, Billie Gudde, and two sisters who passed in infancy, Brenda Kay and Jimmie Darlene, as well as a stepson, Brian Gudde.
