She was born on December 24, 1930 in Chicago, Illinois to Norbert and Helen Weishaar.She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Edward W. Barbe and her parents, Norbert and Helen, brothers Norbert (Rosemary) Weishaar, Frank (Kitty) Weishaar, Phil (Maruja) Mondragon and sister Helen (Warren) Chapman.She is survived by her sons Leonard (Debbie) and Roger (Jill), grandchildren Kelsey (John) Irvin, Erinn (Jeff) Hunley, Emily (Mike) Weber, Eric (Deanna) Barbe and, great granddaughter Riley Weber, and Partner, Joe Romano.Betty was an avid football fan and enjoyed following the Chicago Bears and Ohio State Buckeye teams. She had a successful business career as tax administrator for the City of Perrysburg, Ohio, retiring in 1998. She was very civic minded and devoted many hours volunteering in Rotary, Girl Scouts, Big Sisters of Toledo and The Ohio Women's Policy and Research Commission. Later in life, she enjoyed reading, sewing and time with her grandchildren and great granddaughter.Visitation will take place at 9:00 AM at St. Peter Church, 6899 Smoky Row Rd. Columbus, OH 43235 on Thursday March 19, 2026.The Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 10:00 AM. Burial will be at St. Joseph cemetery located in Maumee, Ohio.
