Betty Bracken

Betty Shelton Bracken, affectionately known as “BB” to her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, March 10, 2026, in Dallas, Texas, at the age of 88.

Born on April 9, 1937, Betty lived a life marked by quiet devotion to her family. She is survived by her husband of many years, Terry; her daughter, Charlyn Holmes, and son-in-law, Rob C. Holmes; her grandchildren, Ashley Taliaferro (Jamie), Allison Bailey (Cole), and Baron Holmes (Flora Kate); great-grandchildren George, Hudson, Kate, Bobby, and John Dooley; and a sixth great-granddaughter expected in May. She is also survived by her sister-in-law, Sarah Lou Bracken; her nieces, Betsy Bracken, Suzanne Cox (David), Sarah Lynn Gamble (Steve); and their families.

Those who knew Betty will remember her warmth, her love of family gatherings, and the special bond she shared with the younger generations who cherished her as “BB.” Her gentle presence and steady affection left a lasting impression on everyone fortunate enough to be part of her life.
