Betty Ann McFarren
August 12, 1934— March 7, 2026
Winona Lake, IN
Betty Ann McFarren, age 91, of Winona Lake, passed away on March 7, 2026, at StoryPoint Nursing Home in Fort Wayne, Indiana.
Born on August 12, 1934, in Warsaw, Indiana, to Jacob and Hazel (Hicks) Rockey, Betty Ann graduated from Warsaw High School in 1952. She married Robert McFarren on September 16, 1950, in Bluffton, Indiana, and together they built a life centered on family, faith, and community.
For 25 years, Betty Ann worked as a secretary at Litchfield Creamery. She also assisted with the family business, McFarren Lawn Service, and often sold concessions at the race track, where her warm and welcoming personality endeared her to friends and neighbors. A lifetime member of Trinity United Methodist Church, she found deep purpose in her faith and especially cherished her years as a Sunday school teacher, guiding younger generations with love and devotion.
Betty Ann took quiet pleasure in watching WCHS basketball games and Western television shows, cheering for the Colts and Dallas Cowboys, square dancing, and participating in the Home Economics Club. She had a special fondness for cats and faithfully fed the neighborhood’s outdoor animals. For many years, one of her favorite weekly traditions was sharing meals with familiar company at Bob Evans.
She will be remembered for her kindness, strong faith, and the steady love she gave to those around her. Betty Ann is survived by her sons, Michael McFarren and daughter-in-law Adrienne McFarren, and Alan McFarren and daughter-in-law Janet McFarren; five grandchildren, two step-grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, and four step great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert L. McFarren, her sister, Genevive Stafford, and her brother, Junior Rockey.
