She was born on September 18, 1931, in Iliff, Colorado, to Victor John Zink and Elizabeth Katherine Steib.Betty grew up on her family farm in Iliff, where she worked alongside her family from a young age and learned the value of hard work. Those early years helped shape the strong, caring, and devoted woman she would become.On November 27, 1955, Betty married the love of her life, Donald P. Farner. Together they built a life centered around family, faith, and hard work. Betty proudly devoted her life to being a homemaker, taking great pride in caring for her home and the people she loved.Betty was known for her warm heart and generous spirit. Her home was always open, and no one ever left her house hungry. She had a gentle nature and always put others before herself. She found joy in the simple things in life, especially traveling with her husband and spending time in Black Hawk.Betty was a devoted mother to her five children and a loving grandmother and great-grandmother. Family was the center of her world, and she cherished every moment spent with them.She is survived by her children: Renee and Randy Heston; Brenda and Mark Brown; Janeane and Ron Schissler; Donnie and Sharon Farner; and Sharon Farner and Tip Coleman. She is also survived by her sister, Rita Quint; her brother, Jerry and Gail Zink; nine grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, and extended family members.She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald P. Farner, her son, Jerry Farner, her parents, Victor John Zink and Elizabeth Katherine Steib; and her siblings Victor Zink and Lucy; John Zink and Dolores; Bob Zink and Noreen; Leonard Zink; Joe Zink and Shirley Billings.Betty will be remembered for her caring heart, her kindness, and her lifelong dedication to her family.
