Betty Adele Holland Hamrick, age 71, of Fayetteville, Tennessee, passed away on March 4, 2026, at Elk River Nursing Care in Ardmore, Tennessee. Born on May 11, 1954, in Davidson County, Tennessee, she was the daughter of the late Dr. William Cannon Holland and Jane Elizabeth Medearis Holland.
Betty earned a bachelor’s degree from Belhaven College in Jackson, Mississippi, and a master’s degree from Alabama A&M University. She spent many years as a mathematics tutor, patiently helping students build confidence and master their studies. An avid tennis player and dedicated college football fan, she found joy in both competition and the excitement of the game. Above all, she was a faithful member of West Fayetteville Church of Christ and remained deeply passionate about sharing the Gospel of Jesus Christ with everyone she encountered.
She is survived by her son, David Ryan Hamrick, Jr., her brother Robert Morris Holland, her sister Sue Franklin Holland, and her nieces Alisa Holland and Elizabeth Taylor Terrazas. In addition to her parents, Betty was preceded in death by her brother, William “Bill” Cannon Holland III, and her sister, Carol Holland Connelly.
