Betty A. Dadio

Betty A. Dadio

Passed March 14, 2026

Bethlehem Township, PA

Betty A. Dadio, 90, of Bethlehem Township, Pennsylvania, and Fort Myers, Florida, passed away peacefully on March 14, 2026, surrounded by the love of her family. Born Elizabeth Ann Shemancik on November 17, 1935, in Sharpsville, Pennsylvania, she was the daughter of the late John and Anna E. (Misinay) Shemancik. A graduate of Sharpsville High School, Betty began her career at First Seneca Bank and later worked in accounting at Westinghouse Electric Corporation in Sharon, Pennsylvania.

In 1964, she married William “Bill” Dadio, and together they shared 44 devoted years of marriage filled with laughter and a deep commitment to family until his passing in 2008. In 1973, Betty and Bill settled in Bethlehem Township, where they raised their three children. Betty worked in Admissions and Records at Northampton Community College while generously giving her time to her community. She served as president of the Farmersville Elementary School PTA, held an officer position in the East Hills Middle School PTA, coached girls’ basketball and softball for the Bethlehem Township Athletic Association, and taught CCD classes at Sts. Peter & Paul Byzantine Catholic Church.

Betty found great joy in time spent with family and friends. She loved playing card games, especially bridge, pinochle, poker, rummy, and Mahjong, and was an avid sports enthusiast who enjoyed bowling, tennis, and golf. She was a dedicated follower of Penn State football and cherished the memories she and Bill made attending the Masters golf tournament in Augusta, Georgia. Above all, she took immense pride in supporting her children and grandchildren, faithfully attending their school and sporting events. For more than twenty years, Betty and Bill spent winters at Heritage Palms Golf and Country Club in Fort Myers, Florida, and summers at their home on Lake Hauto in Nesquehoning, Pennsylvania, always returning to Bethlehem each December to celebrate Christmas with their family.

Faith remained at the center of Betty’s life. A devoted member of Sts. Peter & Paul Byzantine Catholic Church, she also attended Our Lady of Perpetual Help Roman Catholic Church in Bethlehem and St. John XXIII Roman Catholic Church in Fort Myers. She is lovingly remembered by her daughter, Terri Dadio Campbell (Shawn) of Bethlehem Township; her sons, William P. Dadio Jr. (Barbara) of Bethlehem Township and Robert Dadio (Susan) of Oak Hill, Virginia; and her six cherished grandchildren, Casey and Carly Campbell, Kevin, Brian, and Megan Dadio, and Amanda Dadio. She is also survived by her brother John Shemancik and his wife Ellen, her brother-in-law Stephen Dadio and his wife Catherine, many nieces and nephews, and dear friends whose lives she touched with kindness and generosity. In addition to her parents and husband Bill, Betty was predeceased by her brother Michael Shemancik and his wife Shirley. Her love, faith, and devotion to family will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
