Betsy Benton Starnes

With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Betsy Benton Starnes of Monroe, North Carolina, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on March 8, 2026 at the age of 68. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

In the sacred silence of farewell, Betsy is released into the embrace of eternity, knowing that her light will continue to shine brightly in the tapestry of the lives of her loved ones. And as her memory is carried forward, may comfort be found in the knowledge that love is eternal, and that Betsy's spirit lives on in the beauty that surrounds us.

She was predeceased by: her parents, William Troy "Bill" Benton and Vera Pines Moore; and her sisters, Tenna Pines Benton and Kathy Sue Phillips. She is survived by: her husband Jeffery Starnes; and her children, Joshua and Jessica.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, March 14th 2026 from 10:30 AM to 11:15 AM at the Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church (6907 Gus Eubanks Rd, Monroe, NC 28112). A funeral service will be held on Saturday, March 14th 2026 at 11:30 AM at the same location.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Council on Aging of Union County, Atrium Health Hospice & Palliative Care Union, or a charity reflecting Betsy's life and values.
