Beryl Twitty Farney, age 73, passed away peacefully on March 9, 2026, in Port Orange, Florida. Born on January 9, 1953, in Sebring, Florida, she was the daughter of the late Judson Hand Twitty and Jannette Hancock Twitty. Beryl lived a life centered on faith, love, and deep dedication to her family and community.
A devoted member of the First United Methodist Church of Port Orange since 1981, Beryl’s faith remained central throughout her life. She sang alto in the church choir, participated in mission trips, volunteered for numerous projects, and served on various committees. Her church family offered her enduring friendships and support, especially during her journey with dementia. For 50 years, she worked as a cosmetologist, forming lasting relationships with colleagues and clients through her creativity and genuine care. She also cherished travel, enjoying motorcycle trips through Georgia, North Carolina, and Tennessee, as well as RV adventures that took her to national parks across the East and West Coasts, while always finding joy in the comforts of home.
Beryl is survived by her loving husband of 47 years, Stephen Farney of Port Orange; her sister Leda Chrystal of Moore Haven, Florida, and Leda’s daughters Brandy Seider and Erin Chrystal; her brother William “Bill” Twitty and his wife Lisa, along with their children Hannah, Clifton and his wife John Hardie, and Judson Twitty; as well as cousins and many extended family members. She is also survived by her husband’s siblings Marian Buckman and husband David, Carl Farney and wife Jackie, Clifford Farney, David Farney and wife Lynda, and Jeffery Farney, and her beloved comfort dog Rona. Her circle of love included special friends Sarah Chapman, Randy and Tammy Wilson, Susan Eichler, Rick and Lorilyn Prioletti, Julie Osburn, Wayne and Kim Barrs, Brenda Coury, Connie and Richard Thiel, Bill Beebe, Barbara Willis, Richard and Linda Feiler, Kayla Luzier, Bev and Jim McGregor, all the girls at the Beville Salon, and her dedicated caregivers Kelly Gibbs and Myia.
Beryl will be remembered for her generosity, humor, faithfulness, and the love she shared with all who knew her. A Celebration of Life will be held at a future date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to the Halifax Health Hospice Center, 3800 Woodbriar Trail, Port Orange, FL 32129.
