Bertalan Olah

Bertalan Olah passed away on March 11, 2026. He is deeply missed by his beloved wife, Katalin Olah (Palinkas), and will be fondly remembered as a loving father to Bert (Patty) and Nancy (Mark), proud grandfather to Evan (Peyten), Eric, Ethan (Hannah), Ashlyn (Peter), and Owen, and devoted great-grandfather to Oliver and Ozzy Olah, who brought him great joy. He is also survived by his brother Barna (Margaret), sister Gizella (Berci), and many nieces and nephews overseas. Bertalan was predeceased by his brother Gyozo and his dear friend Gus Simon.

Born in Pap, Hungary in 1938, Bertalan came to Canada in 1957 with his brother Barna and his close friend Gus. He built a new life here and remained a man who loved sports of all kinds. He especially cherished sharing a beer, telling stories, and enjoying plenty of laughter with family and friends. His warmth and good humour left a lasting impression on everyone who knew him.
