Born in Camden, NJ on December 14, 1939, to David and Elsie DiAngelo. Bert was a proud first-generation Italian American who grew up in Camden where his family owned a neighborhood corner store.Bert was the devoted husband of Antoinette DiAngelo (née Fiordaliso) for 63 years. He faithfully cared for her during her long illness with unwavering love and dedication. He was the loving father of Denise Basara (Dennis), Phillip DiAngelo (Lisa), and Diane Swain (the late Rob). Proud grandfather of Gina King (David), Vincent DiAngelo, Zachary Swain, Gabrielle Basara, Joshua Swain, and Emily Basara. At Boeing, he continued to serve by supporting the Chinook Helicopter.A true family man, Bert never missed a game, performance, or school event. Known for his playful personality and quick wit, he was always joking around-so much so that friends and family were never quite sure which of his stories were true and which might have been a little embellished.Young at heart and sharp as ever, Bert never felt his age and enjoyed surrounding himself with younger people who matched his energy. He loved the Philadelphia Eagles, and could often be seen at the local hang outs, gym and walking around the mall. Bert was incredibly personable, easily striking up conversations wherever he went, never missing an opportunity to make a new friends - sometimes with a little flirtation mixed in.A gathering of family and friends will be held Friday, March 20, from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Givnish of Maple Shade, 600 E.
