Berry Carol A

1945 — 2026

North Bangor, NY

Carol A. Berry, 80, of North Bangor, passed away peacefully on March 16, 2026, at the Alice Center Nursing Home, surrounded by her loving family.

Born on August 21, 1945, in London, England, to the late J. Douglas and Betty (Churley) Berry, Carol grew up on farms and carried a lifelong love of animals and rural life. She graduated from Brushton-Moira Central School, attended college in Canton, and later graduated from Pauldine’s School of Beauty in Syracuse. Carol married Yerko Bazdaric and together they raised three children: Gerald, Mara, and Jamie. In 1983 she married Richard Peppin, and the couple shared many happy years working side by side on their family farms in Lawrenceville and Burke until his passing in 2008.

Known for her strong work ethic, warm personality, and ability to brighten any room, Carol worked as a hairdresser, for Onondaga County, at Sears in the Fayetteville Mall, and finished her career as Activities Director at the Farrar Home. She rarely sat still, finding joy in helping others, caring for animals, and sharing laughter and conversation with family and friends. Above all, she cherished time spent with her children, grandchildren, and extended family.

Carol is survived by her children Gerald (Kelly) Bazdaric of Dickinson Center, Mara Bazdaric-Russell of Brushton, and Jamie (Jennifer) Bazdaric of Montverde, Florida; her siblings Brian (Nancy) Berry of Bangor, Stephen (Cathy) Berry of Bangor, and Susan (Philip) Winter of Dickinson Center; 11 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren; stepchildren Mark Peppin of Saranac Lake, Thomas Peppin of Texas, and Richard Peppin of Florida; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was predeceased by her parents, both husbands, and her brother Paul Berry.

Her love for family, animals, and the simple moments in life will be remembered by all who knew her. A graveside service will be held at the convenience of the family at West Bangor Cemetery.
