It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Bernard Thompson in Highland, Illinois, who passed away on March 8, 2026, at the age of 79, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Truman Thompson and Helen Thompson (Campion); his granddaughters, Megan Marie Flatt and Gwendolyn Fay Thompson; and his brothers, Roger and Richard Thopmpson.

He is survived by: his wife Diana Bienemann; his children, Shawn Thompson (Kara) of Hartford and Tonya Flatt (Michael) of South Roxana; and his grandchildren, Laura Hildenbrand (Jake), Michael Flatt (Malyn) and Becca Thompson.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, March 12th 2026 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Marks Mortuary (633 E Lorena Ave, Wood River, IL 62095). A funeral service will be held on Friday, March 13th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
