Bernard “Ben” Rohmann, 98, of Scranton, passed away on Monday at Allied Skilled Nursing following an illness. Born on August 31, 1927, in Johnstown, Pennsylvania, he was the son of the late John C. and Mary Kazalla Rohmann.
Before his retirement, Ben worked in the textile industry. A longtime member of Peace Lutheran Church in Scranton, he served faithfully as an elder, trustee, and usher. He was also active in the St. Stephens Booster Club, served as a Boy Scout leader, and was formerly a member of the Polish Progressive Club and the Taurus Club of Scranton.
He is survived by his cousin Shirley Gilpin of Clarks Summit and other cousins. Ben was preceded in death by his sister, Erna Rohmann Stern; his brother, John C. Rohmann; his step-brother, Carl Rohmann; and his longtime companion, Cathryn Liberisky.
