Bernard D. "Bud" Whitt

June 27, 1937 March 11, 2026

Warwick, NY

Bernard D. “Bud” Whitt of Warwick, New York, passed away on March 11, 2026, at the age of 88, with his loving wife by his side.

Born on June 27, 1937, in Soldiers Grove, Wisconsin, Bud was one of eleven children of Leo and Freda (née Taft) Whitt. He proudly served his country in the United States Army and later worked as a welder with Dell Construction Materials in Clifton, New Jersey. In retirement, he found great joy operating “Hot Dog Plus” at the roadside pull-off by Price Chopper and later at the top of Mt. Peter, where he delighted in meeting people from all walks of life while serving his hot dogs.

Bud loved hunting, fishing, and riding motorcycles. Above all, he was a loving and caring husband, father, grandfather, and brother whose warm presence touched everyone he knew. He will be deeply missed by those who were fortunate enough to share in his life.

He is survived by his wife of 27 years, Margaret (née Anarumo); daughters Sandra Yanecko of Supply, North Carolina, Redina Donahue and her husband William of Summerville, South Carolina, and Della Rae Stickle and Randy Ross of Supply, North Carolina; seven grandchildren, Tim Yanecko, Hal Whitt, Deanne Wendland, Samantha Edwards, Dunay Worth, Matt Yanecko, Carly Lybolt, and Amber Stickle; fifteen great-grandchildren; and siblings Harley, Gregory, and Nancy. He was predeceased by his daughter Bernadette Whitt and his brothers Rodney, Gordon, Jerry, Randall, Roger, Michael, and Dennis.
