Bernadine Anderson

Bernadine “Bea” Anderson, 96, passed away on March 8, 2026, at the Gardens of St. Francis. Born on March 28, 1929, near Campbell, Nebraska, she was the eldest of five children of Bernard and Mary (Portz). Bea graduated from Campbell High School in 1947 and later continued her studies in Kansas City, where she met Jack Anderson, a returning World War II veteran. They married and shared 63 loving years together.

Bea and Jack raised their only child, Robert, while both worked for Louisville Title from 1951 until 1987. They then moved to their dream home a block from the ocean in Surfside Beach, South Carolina, where they enjoyed many years surrounded by old and new friends and visiting relatives. The couple shared a deep love of golf, playing both independently and in leagues that brought them lasting friendships. They also traveled extensively, creating cherished memories in Hawaii, the Caribbean, Bermuda, Alaska, Europe, and across most of the United States.

Bea was preceded in death by her parents, her siblings, her beloved husband Jack Anderson, and her grandson Matthew Anderson. She is survived by her son, Bob (Vickie Honner); granddaughter, Kristine (Rob); granddaughter-in-law, Samantha; great-grandchildren, Josh and Matisse; sister-in-law, Mary Miller; and many nieces and nephews.

She will be remembered for her warmth, her enduring partnership with Jack, and the gracious way she welcomed family and friends into her life.
