Benny G Forrider

Benny G. Forrider, 79, of Marion, Ohio, passed away on Tuesday, March 10, 2026, at his home in Marion. Born on July 13, 1946, in Marion to the late Gerald J. and Margaret C. (Rentschler) Forrider, Benny was preceded in death by his beloved wife Nancy (Christian) Forrider in October 2016, his daughter Penny Forrider, an infant daughter Trina Lynn, brothers Thomas Ray “Rabbit” Forrider and Gerald Forrider Jr., and sister Patricia Wren. He was formerly married to Marie Taylor and Donna Hall.

Benny is survived by his children April Forrider, Catherine (Barry Clayton) Forrider, and Ben Forrider II, all of Marion, and Shelby Bell of Mansfield; eight grandchildren, Jordan Shivers, Kaylyn Bell, Taylor and Lacey Clayton, Serenity, Kayleen Fleming, Morgan Forrider, and Riley Forrider; stepchildren Kenneth L. (and his children Dillan, Kelsey, Shaylan, and Brianna), Shannon, Monroe, Danny, and Lana; and his sister Lisa (Todd) Forrider Wallace of Marion.

He began his career at Quaker Oats in 1963 and remained there until the plant closed in 1991. Benny later worked at BAJA Boats until its closing as well. A longtime member of the Marion Racing Pigeon Club, he was known for his skill in autobody work and for restoring countless vehicles. Those who knew him remember his great sense of humor and the nicknames he gave to everyone, along with his deep love for his animals.
