Benjamin Wade Cheatham passed away on Sunday, March 1, 2026, in Tyler at the age of 49 after a long and difficult illness. He spent much of his life in East Texas, attending school in Whitehouse and later living in Winona. Ben was a gifted mechanic who found joy in motorcycles, fast cars, and fishing.
He was preceded in death by his father, James Newton Cheatham, and his nephew, Justin Ray Coslett. He is survived by his mother, Rebecca Jane Childress, his stepfather, Mathew Childress, his sister, Teresa Gail Cheatham, his son, Alan James Cheatham, and his daughters, Sophia Rebecca Renee Cheatham and Britney Nicole Cheatham. Ben was also deeply loved by his aunt, Minnie Cheatham, and his two nephews, Luke and Mathew Hogenmiller, along with many cousins, family members, and friends.
Above all, Ben cherished time spent with his children. He possessed a heart of gold and a generous, loving, and giving spirit. Those who knew him will remember the warmth and kindness he brought into their lives. He will be greatly missed.
